The dental curing light uses light-emitting diodes to produce blue light that cures and polymerises dental materials — hardening light-curable composites, adhesives, sealants, and cements placed within dental cavity preparations or onto dental surfaces.

The modern LED curing light is the gold standard in dental practices — offering faster cure times, longer bulb life, and lower heat generation compared to older halogen technology.

Key Features:

  • Multi-wavelength LED — produces high-intensity light across a broad spectrum of 385–515 nm, capable of polymerising all light-cured dental materials including camphorquinone and alternative photoinitiator systems
  • High light intensity — output of up to 1,500 mW/cm² for rapid, deep, consistent cures in as little as 3–5 seconds per increment
  • Rechargeable cordless design — battery-powered using rechargeable cells; low power consumption eliminates the need for a cooling fan, allowing a lightweight, slim, and highly manoeuvrable handpiece
  • Multiple curing modes:
  • Standard — full intensity for routine restorations
  • Ramp — gradually increases intensity to reduce polymerisation shrinkage stress
  • Pulse — intermittent flashes for sensitive cavities and pulp protection
  • High Power — maximum intensity for deep cures through porcelain
  • Autoclavable light guide tip — removable fibre optic guide for full sterilisation between patients, maintaining gold-standard infection control compliance
  • LED lifespan — over 10,000 hours of operation with no bulb replacements required
  • Built-in timer — audible and visual alerts at 5, 10, and 20-second intervals
  • LCD display — shows intensity level, mode, battery status, and cure time
  • Slim turbo tip option — narrow light guide for access to posterior teeth and difficult-to-reach cavities
  • What It Cures:

  • Composite resin restorations
  • Dental adhesives and bonding agents
  • Pit and fissure sealants
  • Resin cements (under porcelain, zirconia, and ceramic restorations)
  • Bleaching trays and whitening agents
  • Orthodontic bracket adhesives
  • Ideal For: General dental clinics, restorative dentistry, orthodontics, paediatric dentistry, oral surgery, and dental schools
